Memorial WOD for Kim Tompkins

This Saturday, February 15th at 10:15 AM, we’re coming together to honor the life of Kim Tompkins with a memorial workout at Warlock CrossFit.

Kim was one of the most hardworking, consistent, and determined people I’ve ever met. She had a no-bullshit attitude, always found a way to get it done, and never let excuses get in her way. Thinking about that makes me smile. It reminds me of all the good times we had with her in the gym.

I still remember one workout where we sat next to each other, both struggling as we finished to come to some sort of semblance of a functioning human being. At the end, she looked over, gave me a fist bump, a smile, and a chuckle, saying, “Hey, at least we made this one.” That was Kim, showing up, putting in the work, and always finding something to laugh about.

Kim was strong physically and mentally. She had a way of muscling the barbell up, always proud to be part of the OAF club (if you know, you know). But more than anything, she had a heart of gold. She fought through a lot to keep showing up and being part of this community, and I’m forever grateful for her sheer will, dedication, and determination.

This WOD is for her.

Kim was a fighter. She gave everything she had in every workout and pushed through so much just to keep showing up. She made an impact that can’t be put into words, and she will be deeply missed.

Let’s honor her the way she lived, with effort, with community, and with heart.

We’ll see you Saturday.
